Digital Art experiments

The Digital Image Cafe website is running a 'Digital Art' contest through the month of August, so it gave me an opportunity to experiment with a few of my shots & jazz them up a bit.
Personally this isn't my style, I take far to much pride in getting my camera settings perfect to allow a digital filter to be the main focus of the image, but I have to admit that it's been fun playing around & I think the final shots look pretty cool.

West Virginia Sunsets

I had an opportunity to spend a week in the Dolly Sods region of West Virginia & I was very impressed with the evening sunsets. Here are a few from the trip.

Strange rolling clouds at sunset
Shot settings 1/1600 - f5.6 - ISO 400

Sun setting over Dolly Sods
Shot settings 1/400 - f16 - ISO 200

Fiery sunset
Shot settings 1/125 - f5.6 - ISO 400

Not a sunset, but...a storm cloud passes by so low you can almost reach out & touch it along the road to Spruce Knob, the highest point in West Virginia.

Casselman Bridge

Due to the temporary closing the Route 40 Bridge for repairs, they've opened the 1813 Casselman Bridge to horse & buggy traffic. Unfortunately I haven't been there at the right time to catch a buggy crossing over the bridge, but I did get a shot of these snazzy new bright orange signs.
